I use a Kurt CNC vise on my (gasp!) import mill/drill. It makes the difference between accurate parts and junk. IMO, the vise is more important than the machine itself. I've used import copies and the cheaper ones are junk. No doubt there are equals to Kurt, but I've never seen one. I too prefer the older CNC versions and I never use a swivel base.
